Musashi Swords
If you are just starting your sword collection, a great place to start is with Musashi swords. These swords are good for beginning collectors and will help you determine the value and quality of swords going forward with your collection.
There are several different lines of Musashi swords you can choose from. The Katanas are forged from 1060 carbon steel, which makes them ideal for light cutting. Each of the swords offer decorative, yet functional handles, made primarily of iron and brass, though some wooden handles are available as well. Musashi offers both functional and decorative swords that will please almost all sword collectors.
Shirakawa Musashi Swords
You’ll find 17 different Musashi swords in its Shirakawa line of Katanas. Iron tsuba with brass fuchi and kashira fittings complete the swords. These are light swords, which should be used for only light cutting or for display purposes.

The first is a Daisho Iaito set, which includes a 39-inch Katana with a 28-inch blade, and a Wakizashi with a 20.5 -inch blade (the Wakizashi is 39 inches, total). This sword is usable and can be disassembled if needed to use replacement parts or receive repairs. The sword measures 40.5 inches with the saya, and 39 inches without it. Other decorative features include a black lacquer finish and a sword bag.
Ninja Display Swords
There is also a ninja sword line in the Musashi swords collection, which makes a wonderful display sword or can be used for light cutting. The blade is carbon monosteel, which was hammered evenly to create consistent hardness for the whole blade. You can disassemble the hand honed, sharpened blade. The sword is 40.75 inches with the scabbard, and 40 inches without it. The scabbard is wooden and has a high gloss black finish. The sword boasts a full tang blade which measures 1.25 inches wide with a 0.25 inch thickness. The handle has imitation ray skin and a black cord.
